A guy I work with had a red one he was trying desperately to off load. I think it needed a few things but it was driveable.

The supercharger was effectively worthless. That, for starters, is a reason no one talks about them.
210-hp from a SC 3.3L V6 when there was a 240-hp N/A 3.5L existed elsewhere in the stable (Pathfinder, QX4)

Because they only take premium fuel, aren’t that powerful despite the blower (210hp/246ft.lb), and not very reliable. Nissan replaced the 3.3L SC engine with a NA 4.0L v6 after the refresh that gave them 260hp/283ft.lb that runs on regular and has a better reliability rating.

Yea like others have said, for 2001 that doesn’t sound very impressive.
I’d rather have this, becasue V8.

Plus the dealers used to mark them up to. I think they even had a stick with the superchargers.

In stock condition, the 4.0-liter V-6 produces 236 hp and 266 pounds-feet of torque. With the TRD supercharger, output increases to 304 hp and 334 pounds-feet of torque.

if you drove it, you’d never know it had a supercharger if it weren’t for the subtle whine under acceleration. very gutless. I don’t know if there’s any aftermarket for this motor. maybe a smaller pulley and a tune might help

There’s a whole TRD upgraded supercharger for it. And this is far from gutless stock. Was rather fun thrashing around the parking lot a little, and the supercharger was LOUD.

why would there be a TRD (Toyota Racing Development) upgrade for a Nissan?

I was so close to buying a non supercharged 3.3 frontier but they are SO slow. Ended up with a vq35 pathfinder which can MOVE with 250hp
